I'm a heavy equipment operator and recently had to take my machine to the mechanic for some quick repairs.
While waiting, the mechanic made a comment, I'm not exactly sure what it was, but it set me off.
"I'm not a big fan of Donald Trump," i said and this guy hit the roof!
"Why not?, who did you vote for? Not that Bitch hillary?" And it devolved from there. All the Dems were improperly enriched with special interest money. Hillary sold all our Uranium to the Russians and funneled the money thru the Clinton foundation, yada, yada, yada.
I really had to bite my tongue. I have to work with this guy and really want him to fix my equipment when it breaks. So i said something like "I do my own research and it looks like i need to do more"
"I'll tell you where you can get all the facts, watch Fox News. Those guys dont pull any punches and tell it like it really is." I almost gagged. The whole thing reminded me if a Star Trek Next Generation episode "The Game" where everyone is hooked on this mind controlled game that ends up controlling their minds.
Folks do your own research into the issues and think for yourselves.

(15,243 posts)When Donald Trumps name comes up in buisness I make it clear I do not discuss him while doing buisness. I then look for a different person to do buisness. As to relatives who support Trump I do not allow them on the premises. Any Republican who approaches me unsolicited for votes is turned away, I am not interested. The same tactic works for religious pests who knock on my door.

I'm surrounded by these guys but I have to work with them. Even the CEO has an autographed picture of trump on his wall. I can't state my opinion because it might jeopardize my job.
Same way with where I live. I'm in a rural area and have many trumper friends with private properties they let me hike. Can't say shit to them either because access might be pulled.
I hate that I keep my mouth. Seems like cowardice.

(76 posts)I recognize their right to think, believe, and support who they want. I just feel they have been horribly misled by folks that DO NOT have their best interest at heart.
