Name a contemporary movie that will count as an outstanding classic in 30 years.

Wonder Woman - Because it proved that female-centric superhero-movies do fare well at the box-office.

Black Panther - Because it proved that afro-futuristic movies do fare well at the box-office.

Lord of the Rings - Because it was the first major movie where a character was done completely in facial-capturing.

I think Galaxy Quest will count as an outstanding (cult) classic in 30 years. FM123 Aug 2018 #3
Why? It's a Star Trek parody. DetlefK Aug 2018 #4
Yes, it paid homage to Star Trek, but I thought it was funny & clever as a stand alone comedy too. FM123 Aug 2018 #5
It already is a cult classic! No need to wait 30 years. mainer Aug 2018 #9

I've watched it both in the theater and at home. You really got a great "behind the scenes" picture of life among the royals. George came off as a true king, and he was portrayed in "The Crown" very much the same. A sweet man who never expected to be king, but fought obstacles to lead his country during hard times. Colin Firth, Geoffrey Holder, and Helena Bonham Carter were excellent.

But I'd like to see Moonrise Kingdom recognized as a classic. Features one of the best lines of all time, "I love you, but you don't know what you're talking about."
