Trump Supporter Part 2

OK, y'all gave me advice about a Trump Supporter at the office.

What do you do when one of your Facebook friends is a Trump supporter. Do you de-friend them? Even if they are always nice to you? (I'm a light skinned black person, so maybe she never figured out that I was black. I don't know.)

I posted the joke about racist bigots getting excited because one of their own was elected president. My white female over 70 Facebook friend went ballistic. Some of my other friends tried to explain that if you could elect a misogynistic racist bigot, it says a lot about you.

I have another friend on Facebook, black guy, who likes Trump. I think this friend thinks its funny that Trump tells dick jokes, and the racism doesn't bother him. Yes, I think less of him.

I don't know why, but this situation is bugging me. Having to admit, acknowledge, deal with the fact that I have a Facebook friend who is a Deplorable. Really is. No doubt about it. White power, etc.

They walk among us.

Which is why we do not talk politics. I will skim FB on occasion or store photos that I don't share with anyone. Other than that, I don't post or offer comment on anything. FB has turned into a useless mindless social media platform that does not benefit me much at all.

Unfriending isn't a big deal, depending on how important that relationship is to you. If you can live without them, unfriend.

Relatively speaking, I have very few Facebook friends. With the exception of a few cousins, I know every one of my Facebook friends personally. I will not friend people I don't know, unless they are cousins.

So, this person was always very kind to me, and we have known each other for nearly 20 years. I have tried to accept the fact that she doesn't see Trump's values as a deal-breaker. I think if she just admitted that he's a racist, misogynistic bigot, but she hates Hillary more, then I could deal with it. But if she doesn't even see any problem with his values...

This whole thing is making me sick.

on FB, drop them like a hot potato. If you have no other contact with this person except through FB, why would you even want them littering your pages. As for your Black friend, if he evaluates the essence of a person by the jokes he tells, I wonder why he's friends with you.

If push comes to shove just tell them both your FB page is not for worshipping at the Trump altar. If they do then you're dropping them. Fair warning.

Life's too short. I'm with the poster who stated that all (almost all? ) of their FB friends are people they know IRL. Most everybody I know/post with on FB are friends IRL. IMNSHO supporting Trump evidences something about their personality that I don't want to deal with in my life.

1. If you have to associate with a member of Moron's cult (family, necessary business, work and so forth), stay off politics and soldier on, ie enlighten self interest. You can take some enjoyment observing their increasing realization that Moron is screwing with them, too.

2. If you don't, why bother? It's tough enough waking up every morning and wondering WTF did that asshole do this time without having to read his fan club's crap.

We got into a really heated battle about guns that turned really ugly with friends of friends jumping in to tell me I'm a commie anti-American because I think assault rifles shouldn't be sold to anyone outside the military and police. It was intolerable, so I fixed it. I moved all non-progressives to Aquaintance if they meant anything to me, & blocked the ones that didn't. I also quit following every one of them so I don't see their hate filled posts anymore. My life is so much better since I no longer have to deal with their ilk.

Found, I didn’t miss it. I no longer trust what I see there. It is a cesspool of bigotry, lies and Russian propaganda.

I am also a light skinned black woman and would no longer associate with anyone who supports the orange maggot. Be respectful, cautious and keep your interactions limited professionally with the orange maggot supporter in the office. As to your friend I would hide her posts on Facebook. If they ever ask you why? say you question their judgement. Anyone who still supports the orange maggot after what he has done the last two years is a frggin racist. And I have no time for them.

as I did with my nephew. You should not have to censor yourself to avoid the ballistic response. Also, who wants their comments on your page. It is your page so enjoy it in peace. If the supporter finds out, surely they can understand that.
You don't want political disagreements to spill over into your work environment.
