The DU Lounge

Every morning I would either watch or record "Through the Decades" which would give some history of what happened on that day of the year over "The Decades."
Our cable company replaced it with a channel called "Start." It features TV shows starring women.
Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with this programming, I just wish they hadn't mucked-up my history lesson to offer that. There's plenty of other channels I don't watch that could have let go. I don't have much interest in "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman."

(23,566 posts)in Chicago it was channel 2-2 and it changed to start and the decades channel is now 26-6. I don't have cable. You might be able to watch it if you turn off your cable. It's free here in Chicago.

(17,055 posts)I looked to see if we have it here in MA but it says Coming Soon. I'll have to keep a eye out because it seems like a channel I'd like. http://decades.com/wheretowatch

(22,977 posts)Left me wondering if Les Moonves is somehow involved and if he was trying to make amends. Too lazy to research beyond my cynicism.
Pisses me off because when I have a free afternoon I was enjoying watching both 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show' and 'The Bob Newhart Show'. Both are still funny/relevant today!
I did notice they were running the woefully overlooked 'Joan of Arcadia' late at night.
