Years ago, Goldstar TVs were the shittiest brands to buy, so bad that the company had to rebrand to LG.

VIZIO supposedly is the modern shit brand. There were numerous articles how that brand uses whatever parts they can find to make a model, and TV repair shops and their own repair facilities cannot repair them. So when a customer returns a set in 9 months for repair, they are told that the TV is irreparable. Target would push extended warranties, which would give the purchaser a replacement unit, but many would turn it down, only to get burned later on. While these extended warranties are not worth buying, for good brands, especially if a UPS is used to condition the voltage, shitty brands mandate getting one.
