or even living in a zoo. He was a sickly, undersized kitten who was born in a petting zoo, and this Russian couple adopted him and have been caring for him ever since. He seems to be a unique cat for whom the situation is working fairly well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messi_(cougar)

9. The problem with keeping these large cats in a home

are many. The fact that he was even born in a petting zoo is an issue - what are big cats doing in petting zoos?

Pictures like this validate those crazy people who want a baby tiger or puma, and then when it grows up they can't handle it and let it into the wild. Zoos won't take these "pets" because they are usualy bred (by illegal breeders) of poor quality dna - meaning they can't be bred again in the zoo. Probably explains why this one was born sickly.

Sorry, this big cat belongs in a reserve. He may never be able to live in the wild but keeping him confined in this small space is wrong.

Tippi Hendren runs a reserve in So. California, she has (or had if they aren't still alive) the "pet" tiger belonging to Michael Jackson at the Neverland ranch. When MJ could not take care of it any longer he "gave" it to Tippi and never made any contributions to it's feeding and upkeep. And you can imagin how much raw meat a tiger eats every day.

where apparently the couple can legally keep him in their home. I don't think it's a good idea either - but the couple seem devoted to him and try to take good care of him.

The cat is really big.

That is wrong on so many levels.

That really needs a Cartman saying "No kitty. This is my watermelon. No, kitty. That's a bad kitty!"
