M&M's introducing three new peanut-based flavors

The brand will unveil three new offerings – English Toffee Peanut, Mexican Jalapeno Peanut and Thai Coconut Peanut – in 2019, according to the Instagram account of the food vlog SnackChatLive.

The packages invite M&M's fans to vote on which of the three nut-based tastes – OK, actually legume-based – they like best.

This spring, M&M's also offered up three flavors for chocolate lovers to vote on –Crunchy Espresso, Crunchy Raspberry and Crunchy Mint. The winner was Crunchy Mint, which was then sold for an extended limited run.

Mars Wrigley Confectionary owns M&M's, along with other candy brands, including Snickers, Twix and Skittles. The privately-held company is based in McLean, Virginia.

If I had known that they were a limited item I would have stocked up with more of them.

Can't do the peanut thing with the allergies.

Had plain M&M's years ago and not a good reaction to that as a kid, so a candy that I give a very wide berth.

i recognize that 98% of kids don't have peanut allergies, but why introduce a product that right off the bad excludes 2% of the target market?

for any product launch, you want as few headwinds as possible. 2% higher sales for a different product would be a huge win for a candy maker.

the peanut butter M&Ms.

They are so much better than Reeses Pieces, which I don't like.

Never found a snack bar that didn’t have M&Ms.

I bought some chocolate covered locusts, bumble bees, etc at a chain department store's 'exotic food' section.
I took them to work and left the open box out on my desk.

A coworker, known for eating other folks food, gobbled them up before I loudly asked:

"Who ate my chocolate covered bugs?"

1970 or thereabouts is around the time of the Monty Python sketch I alluded to.....

They would have to be "Crunchy, Raw, Unboned, Real, Dead Frog M&Ms" if they wanted to avoid prosecution.

Just be glad they never introduced "Cherry Fondue M&Ms." Those are extremely nasty, but we can't prosecute them for that.
