(15,303 posts)They all had a great time with no bloody noses. There's something about inter-species non prey/predator interactions that are fun to see.

(60,074 posts)I prefer them over Budgies. Budgies are too flighty. Id suggest them to first Time bird owners.

Double Yellow-headed Amazon parrot. Their behavior is fascinating, but what was really cool was how his eyes would flash red as his pupils rapidly contracted and dilated when he was excited or upset. That was not a good moment to come close.
This is a hilarious video of a Yellow-headed amazon arguing with his owner. His companion is a Double Yellow headed Amazon.

(41,832 posts)I had two cats at one time, on the right was "Mama", and "Buddy" on the left, but she passed
away, about 5 years back, and I didn't know her age. Buddy on the other hand was my real
baby cause I obtained him five days after birth, when he was crawling around and getting into
stuff..he shouldn't have.
Buddy was over 15 years when he passed away. As he got older, he slept a lot more. I miss my baby dearly, But I won't own another kitty, the cat box was just too much to maintain.. and i hated cleaning them.

(20,202 posts)Other than a little arthritis and deafness, she was pretty healthy until a week or so before she died. I still cry when I think of having to put her down.

(41,832 posts)could hardly stand up, poor baby. I had to hold him while he got the first shot to sleep, and I gave him to the vet, for the second shot, I simply could not watch my kitty die. They asked me if I wanted the ashes, I said no...My ex girlfriend kept all her kitties ashes.. I just couldn't do that...at all.

(9,833 posts)are so many homeless cats that need someone to love and care for them. That's why I work in cat rescue and why, even though I am getting up in (human) years, I will always have cats in my life. You might want to consider being a volunteer for a shelter or for a rescue group. Most of my work involves transporting cats and kittens from the county animal control to a rescue group. I also foster cats and kittens for short periods of time. It is a lot of fun. The kittens are more fun than TV! There is a big need for volunteers in almost every area of the US.
