I did. Once. Alas, it didn't profit me a penny... you know the game Yahtzee? You roll a Yahtzee--five of a kind in three chances--and get fifty points. An extra one is one hundred points. I was playing by myself, but got the Yahtzee, and the extra one, and was feeling nice--a good score. Right? Then I threw another one. On the first roll. Then a second. Again--on the first roll of the dice. Five of a kind. This happened *five* times in a row--a Yahtzee on the first try. And then I got two more later in the game, though not on the first roll. I don't remember what my final score was, but it was well over one thousand. I've never heard of anyone having a score half that. And that was my brush with wild berserker luck. The odds against this happening had to be at least what winning a huge lottery jackpot would be. And as I said--didn't get a red cent out of it... ...but I did have my transcendant moment...

(29,227 posts)In that time I've had 5 royal flushes in Texas Holdem using both cards in my hand.
However, and this is really hard for people to believe,
I had two royal flushes in one night, within about 3 hours of each other.
It's rare to have one royal flush (10 to Ace in one suit from 7 total cards).
The odds of a royal flush are 1 out of 30,940... I have no idea how to calculate the odds of having 2 within like 90 hands.
In addition, I've had one straight flush beat by another straight flush... almost impossible. I had the 7,8 of diamonds, and right on the flop came 9,10,J of diamonds... and my opponent had the Q,K of diamonds.
Good think I was down to my last few stacks of chips (in CA you can only bet the chips in front of you)...
Sadly, I was playing in a casino that did not have a bad beat jackpot ( usually $50K or more for a hand that loses like this )

That's when I realized I did not have a poker face. I netted 75 cents on the ante, another 75 on the first bet, and then after I drew one card and bet a quarter, the other three guys all folded.
So, my mega-million hand made me a total of $1.50.
