I forgot about K-tel! How could I? We were constantly bombarded with K-tel commercials. These are great.

I spent a week standing (yes, standing) around a huge table piled high with cassette tapes with about ten other people. One woman who was very pregnant was allowed to sit down, but the rest of us had to stand on a concrete floor in an un-air-conditioned warehouse during a Minnesota summer.

Our job was to shrink wrap the cassettes and put them in mailing boxes.

The supervisor looked like she was just out of high school, and her method of "supervising" was to pace around the table yelling, "Faster! Faster!"

Fortunately, that job lasted only a few days.

It had "The Tide is High" by Blondie - man I loved that song and "He's so Shy" by the Pointer Sisters.

Good times!
