I lived for awhile in the suburbs of Chi near a park called Muddy Waters

As mentioned in the article, I found out he used to live there too and that’s why the area park in westmont was named after him . I would never have known where he spent his last years in the Chicago area if I did not happen to live near that park.

It’s not big, but what a great neighborhood tribute and for future generations in the area to know his name and that he lived where they do now .

16. Quite a story Maier's life was...unsung but she kept at her craft.

Not "discovered" until she was gone. It goes that way too often for women artists.

Kobra, the muralist is spectacular.

I don’t think you can get it out your way, west side, but it is online stream just not sure if that is always or only certain shows or what
I don’t know because I use a radio if I listen
Other times the station is jazz or other music .

And blues breakers on Sunday nights on
WXRT fm is another station

Yeah plenty of clubs south and north side as you probably know for live blues music but no decent full time blues radio station that I know of but maybe someone else can enlighten us both

Buddy Guy always does a lot of live shows at his central downtown club in January He comes off touring and back to Chicago to break up the cold

Here on video while on tour last year he laments that blues is not on the radio enough anymore ...

Chicago is known for the blues. Plenty of history, plenty of blurs clubs. We needs a full time station! Grumble, grumble, grumble.

I couldn't believe how live and energetic his show still is. He barely stood still and even did a walk and play around the music hall. Hard to even call him blues at times. Buddy Guy still rocks the dots off his guitar.
