I've been feeding a stray Mama cat and her two babies, but it's really getting cold and it's time to find them a home. Last time this type of thing happened and I called our town no-kill shelter, I was turned away because they said there was no room.
Anticipating this may happen again, I would like to post pics of these kittens and their mama on Facebook. However, I know nothing about Facebook. I don't even know how to find the appropriate place to post pics of them on Facebook. I do have an account there but I've never even made a single post.
I made them an insulated kitty house but they're not using it.
Hope I can get some help here. It's just unbearable for me to think of them out there, so cold.

(38,560 posts)which is easily done when you log into your account. You get a little box that says "what's on your mind?" and you can click on "photo/video" to upload a picture.
However, depending on who you give access to your page, they may not get much visibility. If you only let your "friends" see your page, then only they will see the pictures--unless you ask them to "share" and then their friends will see (and possibly be able to "share" with their friends (and so on...)

(25,862 posts)A FB posting would work if you already were active and had lots of friends, so that when you post the pictures and plea for a new home, lots of people will see it. This isn't something you can to in a day or two, unfortunately.
Go ahead and call the town no-kill shelter. Maybe this time they'll have room.
Try this: post flyers everywhere in your community: library, grocery stores, churches. Anywhere that people might gather and see them. You could even try a Craigs List posting.
Best of luck. I hope they find a home.

(118,677 posts)the local vets. I did that with a cat that some university student couldn't take home one summer. She was just wandering up and down the street asking people to take her cat. I took the 1 year old. Had him fixed. Took a photo. Put it up at the vets...free to a good home. And found a family in days.

I think I'd wait till after xmas to do anything tho...... Too many people/kids get live animals for xmas, that does not end well.

(35,685 posts)This really, really helps. I'm going to call all of them today to determine the best option.
Icypeas, I think they are living in the window well of a house next door. It's a mansion with several overhanging porticos that can at least give them some relief from the rain. The mansion is up for sale, so no one to bother them.
I appreciate your point, bayard. I want to make sure they get a good home, not just a home.
