Groundhog Day in Punxsutawney

Has anyone gone who can offer some practical advice for a first-timer w/family in tow?

Especially around logistics. Parking, walking, where to go, how early, etc. We're arriving the night before.

Thank you, DU!

While I can’t imagine why, other than for some “meh” skiing south of there, one would intentionally go to the most isolated area of Pennsylvania during the dreariest weather, might I point out that Pittsburgh is reasonably nearby and has a lot going for it?

Wow. That’s a lot of effort to see a frightened rodent first thing in the morning.

Incidentally, by the time you exhibit symptoms of rabies, it is too late for treatment.

I'll be careful.

It's not my first choice, but I'm afraid of diminishing returns if we go to the Wasau Possum Festival again this year.

and they say the real party is the night before the "Groundhog Unveiling". There's a lot of drinking, partying, going on all night.

He had to get Andie McDowell to kiss him to escape.

Don't go. It's dangerous.

My daughter said because it is so crowded, traffic is closed off near the site of the festivities. Apparently there is a Walmart near by where people can park and take a shuttle to the area. She said they got there at about 300-400AM in order to park and just managed to get a spot. Apparently there are some other parking options too that also involve a bus/shuttle. She said all you
need to know you can find out about at the websites re same. You might have to set up an Uber to bring you to a shuttle spot at a regular hour if you have young kids. Good luck!
