I don't have the link, but a subthread (which was begun by a poster I learned had subsequently passed away) went off the damned rails in a big way!

The poster started by saying something to the effect that she "Hated those corporate bastards" because she figured that somehow, some nefarious capitalist was plotting to harvest the water discovered on the moon and bring it back to earth to sell for a profit.

I shit you not.

This person actually thought that it was within the technological and financial ability for a bunch of "corporate bastards" to somehow collect the water there in sufficient quantity and bring it back here to be sold at a profit, ignoring that this planet is 75% covered with water.


Ahhhh...the good old days.

at one time had to actually make a post admonishing the members to stop putting up chicken threads.
