(10,252 posts)A Buddhist country with a constitutional monarchy. Bhutan does not measure gross national product. It measures National Happiness. It regularly polls the population about how happy they are. It's the only country with a Ministry of Happiness.
Bhutan has more acreage (hectares?) of national parks and wildlife refuges relative to its land size than any other country. Tourism charges a $250/day tax, but that includes transportation access to museums and temples. Not certain if that includes hotel too.
