A HERETIC I AM
(24,371 posts)Thanks for sharing that. Not something that would have come up for me, I don't think, even though I watch a fair amount of woodworking videos.
There are some really amazing craftsmen and women that make the effort to record their processes. It is always fun to watch someone who is really good at something perform that task.
I swear, YouTube has a video for just about EVERYTHING!
Your clothes dryer on the fritz? There's a video on how to fix it.
Want to make a dessert you never tried? A couple dozen to choose from.
Want to see how a Locomotive is assembled? There's a bunch covering that.
Want to learn how to knit?......
and on, and on, and on.
Again, thanks for that. I "Liked" that so I will see more like it.

(10,173 posts)the lovely thing about li Ziqi too, is that her vids seem to be popular among young urban chinese, because it's a look into traditional rural chinese life which is disappearing. Li ZIiqi has her imitators but she's one of a kind. Since you liked it you'll also see some cool cooking vids from her as well.

(18,637 posts)I assume there were actually multiple days involved in creating such works in Old World technique. Had it been built in any industrialized market that paid a living wage, it would be unaffordable practical art. Indeed, I'm sure she collects a good stipend for her skill, even in a third world, and like most fine furniture makers, she did it without screws and glues. Well done!
Thanx for posting!

(47,561 posts)When she did that wrap-around move for the 90deg corners, though, I literally started clapping.
