(57,531 posts)there was Nixon.
The Canuck letter was a forged letter to the editor of the Manchester Union Leader, published February 24, 1972, two weeks before the New Hampshire primary of the 1972 United States presidential election. It implied that Senator Edmund Muskie, a candidate for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination, held prejudice against Americans of French-Canadian descent. The letter's immediate effect was to compel the candidate to give a speech in front of the newspaper's offices, subsequently known as "the crying speech". The letter's indirect effect was to contribute to the implosion of Muskie's candidacy.
On October 10, 1972, FBI investigators revealed that the Canuck letter was part of a dirty tricks campaign against Democrats orchestrated by the Committee to Re-Elect the President (CRP) (later derisively nicknamed CREEP).

(57,531 posts)What would I do with another one of those? I don't use the ones I have now.
They were so nice. The feel of one in my hands. The precision. The care I'd take to compose a shot.
There's a Leica store in downtown DC. I have to avoid it.

(57,531 posts)The whole shebang. It's been packed away for years.
When Kodachrome went away, it was as if Trump had been elected.
Major Nikon
(36,827 posts)I still have all the tanks and reels packed away. I doubt I'll ever use any of it again. The last time I did was for my daughter's photography class.

I miss him!
Harker
(14,028 posts)though I don't turn on the TV very often. I miss him partly because I regret having dismissed him as a foolish crank for way too long.
I finally got him in his latter years. Now I'm one, too.

(27,830 posts)60 Minutes is a great program, but without Andy's commentary at the end, it's just not the same.
