Big Lebowski star Jeff Bridges reprising role of The Dude in mystery project

I’ve got information, man!

Jeff Bridges has teased the possibility that he is reprising the role of “The Dude,” the iconic, White Russian-slurping, perpetually stoned bowler he portrayed in the Coen brothers’ classic 1998 comedy, The Big Lebowski.

In a video posted on Bridges’ Twitter account, the Oscar-winning actor is seen dressed in the distinctive costume of his beloved character while the accompanying message reads “Can’t be living in the past, man. Stay tuned.”

What does it all mean? Well, as the Bob Dylan-accompanied clip concludes with the date “2.3.19,” Bridges is most likely teasing the appearance of the Dude in a Super Bowl commercial. Whatever the case, be sure that we will keep you up to date with all Lebowski-related ins, outs, and what-have-yous as they occur.

… the gene for appreciation of that character. I admire his skill as an actor, but I didn't like "the Dude" character or film. Maybe the new project will something more to my liking…

It had some moments but nothing close to the dying admiration for it

My 2 cents.

I’ve only seen the whole movie once. Maybe I need to revisit it.

I’m not revisiting Wes Anderson movies though - I’ve tried but I just don’t GET those either....that and jazz.

There's a line in the movie where the Dude is scolded by his older, namesake. He's told "the Hippies have lost. Go get a job." The Dude represents a world where the Hippies won.

… my reaction might be more adverse because the general feeling is that the character and film are considered so wonderful.

The Hippies lost? I thought they hippies won... Nixon resigned, Vietnam is considered a mistake, Jane Fonda became one of the 1980s biggest box office stars... the Beatles and music era is revered... the TV and pop culture is beloved...
