(86,775 posts)1. Have stayed for a spell but know
a few who live in them year round. t can be a disaster if you don't know how to manage your airflow, especially in winter. The largest was about 18ft diameter. You can have a wood stove or even a cook stove but you have to be able to manage how you place it and the exhaust along with the lower inner skirting. If you set it up well, you can withstand brutal cold without a lot of discomfort.

There was snow one night.
Had a tarp to cover the entrance - it was quite snug.
