Dad's Garage

Dad’s Garage (“Please Put All The Tools You Used Back Where You Got Them From”)
is open on Saturday....

Middle Son coming over in about a half hour to do his brakes, and Youngest Son is going to change his oil this afternoon.

Lunch will be part of the deal, as soon as Mom figures out what to make.

a little grease and a lot of knowledge.

A busted knuckle or two doesn't hurt either.

wear nytril gloves, something I learned works over the years.

at regular car maintenance... and we got a large “bucket o gloves” out there ready to go.

It sure saves a lot of $ when you can do that stuff yourself.

Best instruction starting out is changing that first tire. It's a lot easier to do it on the driveway than on the shoulder of the road.

My dad used to bank the money he saved doing his own repairs. If an oil change was 15.99 at the shop, he'd buy the oil and filter and put the rest in savings.

good move.

He brought brakes and rotors for $120 and it will take him about an hour to do the job.

He told me the dealer wanted $450 and one hour to do the job ( that did include the price of the parts)

He lives an hour away in an apt. so it’s not all that inconvenient for him to come here and do it. I’m glad we are here to provide the garage and tools for him.

Oh yeah and a torpedo heater!

With four kids and with two married.
Some days like when winter tire season hits. It’s one rolls in gets tires switched out that one rolls out and then the next one rolls in. I will say very grateful for a warm garage to do that in and I’m not even the one doing it. Hats off to the home mechanic/ tire changer. Also the moms who make the meal for those getting greasy.
