My boss needs one that's big enough that it has some meeting rooms available, but we're trying not to spend a mint.

(7,715 posts)I stayed at this about 15 years ago when it was called the Regency Hotel.

It's not too far from the airport and very close to the City Center.
Hopefully, it's within your company's price range.

(27,813 posts)We liked it, the price was good, the location fantastic. And it looks as if they have meeting rooms.

(25,861 posts)First time in 1972, second time in 1989. Both times I stayed in a B&B and no longer recall the names.
I will share this. The first trip there, a commercial traveller, as they called them then, was also staying in my B&B. Meaning he was a business man travelling on business. He owned some movie theaters, as I recall, in the west of Ireland. Anyway, we'd chatted a bit and had become friendly, and one day he took me out sightseeing. Keep in mind I was very young and knew little of the history of Ireland. He brought me downtown, to the GPO (General Post Office) where the Easter Uprising occurred in 1916. The way this man told the story I'd have thought it happened only months earlier.
That was a long time ago, and I have no idea how powerful the local memories of the Easter Uprising are now.
I will say I hope your boss finds what he needs and has a wonderful time.
Oh, the second time, in 1989, it was a family trip. My mother, five of her six children, and five of her seven grandchildren, plus a cousin on her side of the family and that cousin's new husband. We rented two vans. Our stay started at Springfield Castle, large enough to accommodate all of us. We travelled around the country and had a great trip. I hope I get to return to Ireland some day. It's a wonderful country.
After my first trip there I'd tell people that the things that you think are American, that are so American you can't begin to connect them to anywhere else, are probably Irish.

(54,399 posts)Although it's less than a two hour flight from us, we've never found the time to run up there. Never been to Ireland.
One of these years!

(54,399 posts)But even if they were to pay US 100 to take the trip, that still wouldn't find me the time to free up to make the trip. Even Ryan Air doesn't sell ten day weeks.

(63,221 posts)It is a chain business hotel. Not bad, but not especially charming either. However good locations and they are certain to have conference rooms and business services so would be able to meet the OP's needs. I preferred the DT location, not far from Temple Bar.

(17,984 posts)Stayed there one night. Oh, those duvets were to die for! But it's also pretty expensive.
But if you just eat at Burdocks for dinner, then you will save money and be extremely happy.
