I’m Welsh and Cornish on Dad's side. Since they were both mining regions there was a lot of migration between the two places. The now-extinct Cornish language is similar to Welsh.

I discovered my Welch blood very late in life. I somehow assumed a family name, Record, was German until my mom, hipped me about my father's roots. Beyond the family cemetery in the Midwest, and the names of towns the Records lived in, I know nothing else because an internet search on the name 'Record' produces about 347,000,000 list of records. It's a daunting task separating the wheat from the chaff with that many hits.

Thanks for the reminder of potato and leek soup. Just the thing for a late winter supper.
