Name that activity!

After a fun relaxing final vacation day, hitting the museum, taking the dog to the off-leash park, sharing cocoa with a young friend, and dining on Thai takeout, my small family is sitting around indoors where its minus 12 outside in western Montana, each on our own device sharing occasional comments, while our 20 something daughter finishes her laundry at our VRBO.

I wonder: is there a name for this shared family activity? Is it legit? Anyone else relate?

By the way, we saw Glenn Close and her family at the museum! She apparently has a home here.

Nice mellow day.

Haha! I can guess where you are 'cause I know where Ms. Close lives! I won't tell, though.

As for the activity, 21st century quiet time?

It's supposed to be a low of -16F tonight but it's already -20F so I guess it might get a bit colder.

So funny how someone so glamorous / high-profile can look so ordinary in an ordinary setting!

Of course we respected her privacy!

together in the living room, all in our most comfortable spots, reading books together. Each, of course, reading our own book choice. Now, if the chance presents itself we do the same thing but with our devices instead of books.

It's the same activity as far as I'm concerned. Best of all, my dyslexic son would be able, and happy, to join us. Smart phone technology has been a gift to him.
