An American walks into a bar...

An American was sitting in a pub in England and he saw a couple of large women at the bar and decided to offer them a drink.

"Can I buy you two a drink? I've always wanted to talk to women from England."

To which one said "Its Wales, WALES".

So the American corrected himself. "May I buy you two whales a beer?"

Then it would make more sense, though still be somewhat insulting.
