17 Posters From The 1930s, The Age Of Great Depression, That Promote Kindness To Animals

During the 1930s, the American Humane Association organized a "Be Kind To Animals" week where they shared posters of people taking care of animals. These adorable posters used artist's Morgan Dennis' work who was already known for his drawings, particularly of dogs. Each poster had an illustration of a charming child shown taking care of an animal. The main goal of the posters was to spread the message that people should love and respect animals.

Teaching kindness to animals. There's a reason why serial killers start with killing animals.

He's kind to strangers when we walk and takes care of and protects his "pack" - me and my husband. He actively discourages disputes, doesn't encourage them for hate and fun. I'd rather have him for president than the orange assmouth, he's way more polite and smart.

It brings me back to the "See Spot Run" stories. If only the trophy hunters understood one gets more from communing with beasts than subduing them. Those who can't appreciate animals are the saddest cases of all.

I wonder if this was done to evoke a feeling on innocence, or if the American culture at the time associated pets only with children (adults don't keep pets).

able to use their skills and earn a living. Photography is great but the illustrations have something special and unique which photos can't copy sometimes. Animals and kids are always popular, no matter the medium.
