I don’t suspect all of them will die; but I expect some will. GoT does not discriminate when it comes to killing good, bad or in-between characters.

and the showrunners know the planned book ending for each character - I'm expecting either Jon Snow or Daenerys will sacrifice themselves for the other to "beat" the Night King

When the Sept of Baelor blew up, I would have half-expected the series to end with the Night's King raising Joffrey's corpse to sit on the Iron Throne.

if that event is something they got from George RR Martin, or something Benioff and Weiss created on their own? Given how slowly brutal the books can be, the explosion wiping out dozens of rivals to the Throne seemed too fast/convenient to me
