written by Jackie De Shannon but can't stand Kim Carnes who, to me, sounds like an alley cat with asthma.

'All About Eve' is, IMHO, a perfect film. 'Now Voyager' makes me teary eyed, every time I see it. 'Old Acquaintances' and 'The Great Lie' - sublime and entertaining. 'The Old Maid', another tear jerker. Even as she grew older, 'The Catered Affair' and 'The Star' showed that her talents were not waning, even if her fan base was. She was so ahead of the game, when it came to playing less than glamorous women.

One of my favorite stories about her was when she was in the costuming phase of 'The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex'. The dress design was not historical accurate because they thought the true size of Elizabethan gowns would make her movement difficult. She disagreed because she wanted some historical accuracy, and had the dress she wore was secretly designed and created to the correct scale. By the time they realized what she'd done, it was too late.

She was a fierce, fierce woman who didn't back down from a fight.
