(9,734 posts)wild turkeys was rare. (Except at liquor stores) Now I see them all the time, lots of them. They run across the trails as we hike, you see them in almost any field at any time of the day.
**should mention I live in northern Michigan, sunrise side.

(15,540 posts)I remember the first time I saw a wild turkey (I'm in SE Michigan) and it was so amazing to me. Now I see them at the nearby park all the time. In fact, I had something like what's in this video happen to me one time entering the park. There were about 4 turkeys with their "fans" open looking right at my car while the females strutted by. It was like they were showing off for me.

Now if they were descended from wild turkeys or a group that descended from escaped turkeys....I don't know. But I love seeing them, as well as the deer....and the skunk that completely ignores us on the front porch when passing by...as almost if, he just says "hey guys...just going through my routine, don't worry, chill".
