Having their names on the CV might just expedite its journey to the shredder.

IMHO, of course.

That is quite an over sight!

My Grandson is trying to decide between co-oping or summer work. The companies want you to work for 6 months. He has had several job offers but they want him to start tomorrow! Little hard to do when you have a few more weeks of College semester.

There's just not much slack in the labor force. Which is absolutely great in a lot of ways, except for me this second trying to hire somebody. Three construction sites near my office are stalled out because they can't find workers. (Side point: I have no idea why anybody in Northern Virginia works fast food right now: you can get a construction job pushing a broom for $20/hour)

They are all over this area. Signs in every window.

I was in a Drug Store the other day talking to one of the execs. He offered me a job as Assistant Manager. I told him I did not think he could match my former wages. He asked me how much.

At my age, too!

it might be best not to show up for your interview wearing flip-flops and your "I'm a fucking ray of sunshine" tee shirt.

That's easy for me to say when my name is not "Latrice Washington". Fair enough.

And I have my name in large font, right there at the top. Plus, I included my email and phone number.

You know, Microsoft Word has resume templates that are pretty damned easy to follow if you have half a brain. I'm sure the templates request you put your name in.
