The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsHas anyone had issues with Facebook loading over the past couple of weeks?*
The News Feed frequently stops after one or two posts--usually after a "Sponsored Ad" or "Similar to Posts You've Interacted With" bot post thrown in my feed. Other times, it will be completely blank with a "Welcome to Facebook" message.
This happens regardless of whether I'm on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Safari. It doesn't seem to be browser specific.
This will go on for up to an hour or two, and then everything will work normally for a while. And then it will happen again.
*Before anyone answers this question, please, no high and mighty "Why are you still on Facebook?" responses, please. Yes, I know about Facebook's problems. I still like the social aspect of it all and I like to participate on it. (As an aside, you can also substitute "the Catholic Church" for "Facebook" in those last two sentences and it would pretty much be the same thing for me.) So I don't really want to hear about long winded responses about how you quit Facebook and how you're such a better person now.**
**The same goes for eating fast food and drinking soda. (Both of which I do occasionally, not habitually, and I refuse to apologize for that, either.)
True Dough
(17,305 posts)It blocks all the annoying "sponsored posts" (read: advertising). Anyway, the designer of the extension put out a notice a couple of days ago to inform users that it wasn't his product that was causing Facebook not to load properly (apparently he was getting lots of complaints from people blaming him). So it seems like a pretty widespread problem.
I'm experiencing similar issues with my news feed. Actually, I had been for several months. I always used to reset it to "most recent" posts but Facebook has now taken that option away completely. I'm stuck with whatever FB deems as "top posts" even though it skips around over periods of days, omitting things that I really would be interested in. It's very annoying, but I use FB for work purposes as well, so I just live with some of the headaches.
