...that he was taken in by someone determined to help him make it. Good going, Archimedes!

In August of 2012, our sons were in San Antonio with their college soccer team, on the team’s customary pre-season out of state trip. They attended Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. While there, they happened upon a tiny kitten all alone on a cement footbridge- no momma or litter mates to be found. They took him back to their hotel. They couldn’t find a shelter willing to take him in, so they passed the hat amongst the team and bought the little guy a plane ticket back to Kenosha.

He weighed a pound and 4 ounces. Fortunately, he was very healthy. After a year in an off campus house with our older son and several team mates, he came to live with us. He has absolutely thrived and turned out to be a good-sized dude - just over 15 pounds of sleek muscle and shiny fur.

I totally adore him. His name is Winston.
