That whole thing about “parting is such sweet sorrow...”

When they get big and strong and head out on their own...

Bittersweet. Personal pain but a larger sense of satisfaction at the same time. I both loved it and hated it when the hatchlings in our little front entry nest would grow big enough to leave. You hope like hell they thrive and they make it, but you dread the day they do.
