Mrs. Aristus' conservative fundy days are behind her, but she still has to keep peace in the family.
She asked me privately not to make a big deal out of it; to just shut up and eat.
So I did.
She didn't tell me not to make a donation to PFLAG, so that's what I'm going to do.

(6,262 posts)I do have friends who should know better who like the sandwiches - a lot.
Must be pretty tasty.
If I ever do eat one of their offerings, I would do what I do every time I HAVE to go to WalMart or Menards and their ilk (I live in a very rural area) for something I can't get elsewhere ----- and that is I go into the local library or Humane Society to hand deliver a donation equal to what I saved or spent to ease my conscience.

(14,004 posts)I was a fast food junkie and, to me, they made the tastiest chicken. Now, of course, I wont eat there because of their bigotry. Good on you for making a donation to PFLAG; in my mind that more than offsets eating one of their sandwiches.

I would not have touch it. Would have made a huge fuss. And walked out.
I've not had Chik-Fil-A since the start of the boycott. That's me, I hold grudges.
