This afternoon the boys and I were playing poker. Typical 5 card draw 7 card stud never no wild cards. and we use poker chips and it is all in fun, so a friend of my wife was over with her grandson awesome little guy. Young mister and I were tight because I hook him up when he comes over food drinks anything he wants. I usually break out the train set he loves to play with it I had that train set as a kid and Im 53.
So our sons and I were at dining room table playing poker. And young mister heads out to partake in some pudding ,I put in a bowl for him and he decided to sit on my lap and eat. Several hands later I was dealt a flush straight out the deck. And I go to drive up the pot and young mister. He starts counting the cards with all pretty diamonds he says and starts counting 1 diamond 2 diamond 3 diamond 4 diamond 5 diamond he said out loud you have five diamonds ,My sons folded were out dad. I kissed young mister on the cheek we were all laughing I asked you want some more pudding I got a yes.

(33,643 posts)There's no 1 in the deck my friend ...
So I'm really saying I'm impressed that a 4 year old knew that an 'A' counts as a 1

Cute story, as most of yours are TEB ...
Better watch your step while he visits, he is sure to notice anything you do that is out of line and make a public service announcement!

(4,483 posts)was eating constantly so he was unable to spill the beans on you. Pudding goes down too easily. Give the kid a big Philly soft pretzel next time, and hold your cards way above his head, the little blabbermouth.
Or maybe some Cheerios spread out far apart on the table, so he has to look for them.
