(28,394 posts)So hard to pick a favorite today! That blue diving bird is mesmerizing, though. At first I thought it was two birds kissing.

(23,248 posts)I would pick her up and put her on my shoulder, and she would crawl to my back and lie down, content to take a nap! I would have to stand there, hunched over, for several minutes, while she made herself right at home! What a demanding master I served!

(14,487 posts)Interesting description of how he got the shot:
https://mymodernmet.com/mario-cea-kingfisher-bird-photo/
Spanish wildlife photographer Mario Cea is known for his incredible bird photography. Using slow shutter speeds and artificial light, hes able to capture feathered creatures in unexpected, artistic moments. Regularly winning international photography competitions, Ceas stunning photo of a kingfisher diving into a pond won the Peoples Choice Award at the 2016 Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition and was recently shortlisted for the Bird Photographer of the Year Awards.
With over 25 years experience as a wildlife photographer, Cea is an expert at techniques that allow him to make this magic happen in the field. Through hard work and perseverance, the expert wildlife photographer was able to bring his artistic vision to life. In fact, The blue trail is the fruit of 6 months of work and 2,000 shots in order to obtain this perfect result.

(35,687 posts)Example is the first one, consoling the little guy who got chewed out. If looks could kill.
A similar behavior with my cats is this: I have one bully cat. She totally intimidates the other cats from their food by first eating her own, then staring at the cats who have not finished their meal. She will stare them down and then finish their plate. Needless to say, I have three skinny cats and one fat cat.
In an attempt to change this, I started locking bully cat in the entryway at meal time. She would get her meal--just there instead of the where she normally ate.
The other cats refused to eat until she was allowed to come back in and eat at her regular spot.

(1,408 posts)I've seen that look on a cats face while they are sitting next to food and I come back into room.
Sgt. Peppers was one of my first rock albums. I was 12. Had to buy with own money because folks said if I wanted it they wouldn't buy it.
No problem as I was working on a farm and bailing hay/straw on other farms.
I rode my bike three miles into town the next day.
Sorry so long of reply.
