Hey ho

Hi DU. I've been lurking since Bush, maybe 2002? I just fled to the Netherlands two months ago. I've been a Democrat since Bush v Gore; before that I was Independent; in my youth I was Republican. To be fair, I grew up in Maryland and moved to Texas for college, and a Maryland Republican is far more liberal than a Texas Democrat. Otherwise, I have two brilliant adult daughters, one husband, two dogs and three cats. Hope this is an acceptable intro.

They did. On KLM. I was told Lufthansa and KLM are the best airlines for pets.

met a staffer for Steve Bullock a couple of weeks ago. He had been in the Netherlands for 3 years and came home to help his governor and family friend.

He said he was a bit bored in the Netherlands because whatever he needed he could pretty much get. Told him it sounded like heaven to me.

Hope life is good for you over there.

I have lived in both Maryland and Texas. Gotta admit, I am a little jealous - Some of my favorite death metal bands come from around there.

I also was a republican youth - grew up in a fiercely conservative. fundamentalist baptist home. It took a little while for the brainwashing to wear off but I'm all good now. Well, mostly good now. Well, I have some good days now. Look, I was good several times this decade! Stop grilling me!

Anyway, glad to have you un-lurked!
