Geeze, lived there once and hard pressed to remember anything else of note. Oh yeah, go to church, Chattanooga is the buckle of the Bible Belt.

The historic bridge is for pedestrians and bicyclists. You can rent bikes downtown. There’s a free electric shuttle bus that goes all over downtown and over to the Northshore. There is a electric shuttle terminal in the street level of the parking deck where the Active Climbing Gym is located.

The Northshore has Coolidge Park and a beautiful restored antique carousel with hand carved animals. There are great shops and restaurants. The Plum Nelly shop is wonderful!

Go downtown to the Arts district on the bluff. There are some great little restaurants and shops plus a small glassware museum. The Hunter Museum of Art is fantastic! It’s on the bluff right in the arts district. There is a bocce court along the river bluff too! The views of the river and the city are great from up high!

There is an outdoor sculpture park. You can follow a path back down to the main downtown area. The Tennessee River river walk is great for walking, running & biking.

The Lake Chickamauga TVA Dam is awesome! FDR attended the opening ceremony after its completion.

There’s an IMAX theater near the Chattanooga Aquarium. The aquarium is world class! Really wonderful!

Get out in nature on Signal Mountain which has Cumberland Trail access from NPS Signal Point.

in a special art studio lead by a carousel wooden sculpture expert. The city bought the carousel, but it was missing the animals and sleighs. The carousel is in a pavilion in Coolidge Park. There are rocking chairs all around if you just want to watch it go! I love the Uncle Sam ostrich!

There are quite a few really good restaurants in Chattanooga. There is a brewery near the Aquarium!

Reflection Riding is a local nature center, but it is out in the county.

There’s lots of local history and historic sites. The area has a rich African American history, including Bessie Smith (blues singer). There’s the Chattanooga Choo Choo, a Tow Truck Museum, the glass museum, a children’s museum and an official Moon Pie Store! The Tivoli Theatre is a restored historic site that hosts the symphony, movies & musicals.

Have fun!
