Lauren Cohan to Return to 'The Walking Dead' in Season 11

https://www.rollingstone.com/tv/tv-news/the-walking-dead-lauren-cohan-returns-895322/

Following a string of high-profile cast departures – via voluntarily exits off-screen or killed off in-show – The Walking Dead revealed Saturday at New York Comic-Con that one fan-favorite character would return to the franchise for the just-announced Season 11 of the AMC zombie series.

Lauren Cohan, who portrayed Maggie Greene up through Season Nine of The Walking Dead, will come back as a series regular next season. Cohan was a surprise guest during The Walking Dead‘s New York Comic-Con panel, where her return was also announced:

Walking Dead’s ninth season witnessed the exits of both Cohan and Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes; it was later revealed that Lincoln would leave the TV series for a spinoff film series focused on the Grimes character, while Cohan took the lead role in the since-canceled ABC series Whiskey Cavalier. Black Panther star Danai Gurira, who plays Michonne on Walking Dead, will depart the series following Season 10.

“We’re delighted to welcome back Lauren Cohan, she has meant so much to this show and its passionate, global fanbase, who are in for a fantastic ride over the coming months,” AMC President Sarah Barnett said in a statement (via Variety).

1. Well, if they don't cancel Fear the walking dead, then someone really is brain-dead. Walking Dead

still has some decent casting so maybe it won't follow the same fate as it's sibling show. Having "Maggie" come back is good, though...

...the whole "we have to video tape this so people will know why we do what we do" thing played itself out MANY episodes ago.

Highlight of the entire season was knowing Logan was finally going to STFU.

Other than that, wake me when it's over.

3. Yes. Once they got into that silliness, I quit too. I read some summaries for other episodes

afterward (Forbes was great) and they were more scathing than even I would have been. So, I'm done.
Lennie James is actually a good actor and they absolutely destroyed him with the way they wrote that role this season.

After seeing how those showrunners ruined that show (not that it had not been close to its last legs previously) I will no longer have anything negative to say about the last season of GOT and its writers. Uncomparable epic failure for FTWD.

Shut it down and move Alicia and Morgan and maybe Strand back to the main show, that mess is unsalvageable

Ugh

Fear started off poorly - I didn't like any of the characters, though Strand was interesting. With the mother show, you sympathized with Rick and Morgan in that first episode and then some of the others - Carol, Carl, Glenn, etc - from the first season.

Fear improved a bit in season 2 and I thought it was definitely good in season 3, but it took a step back last year... I have not finished season 5 yet, but I've heard the ending caused a lot of fans to blow up

6. Yay Maggie! This show was so much better when they were on the road, cast is still too bloated

Kill at least half of them off and get them the hell out of the Georgia pines, large group interactions are this shows weakness.

I only give a shit about a handful of them, maybe less, lol

but, it will be tough for the show to overcome the loss of Carl, Michonne and Rick

This show is running on fumes as it is. I just binge-watched season 9 and even though I agree with another poster here who said it was an improvement over seasons 7 and 8 I still found it to be a frustrating watch. I started losing patience with the season when they ended up taking in that girl and refusing to give her back to her tribe thus endangering their own people. The decision wasn't even put to a vote. This is not how things would have been done in past, and better, seasons.
