Great day for wildlife

Local wetland, teeming with swans. Here's a black swan and five cygnets. (a bit distant - using a compact Fuji with not much zoom). The other swan is middle, left of pic. You can just pick up it's neck and bit of white on wings.



Then a bit further on, couple of unconcerned emus loitering. Group of roos distant left but too small to see properly.



Then to top it all off, on our afternoon dogwalk at a bush block in the next street - first snake of the season. I've been expecting a sighting for a week or so - they start to wake up end September, October. This was a fair sized eastern brown (.75m) and it just slid away. No pix as I was busy grabbing my dog.
