(11,631 posts)We had rented a casa in a small village of Boca de Tomatlan south of Vallarta where the river comes down into the sea. The kitties came every night through the bars in the window and we fed them our leftover fish from dinner. They were so hungry and thin. One was so tiny and so friendly all black. When we got ready to leave I went to the owner of that casa and brought her a big bag of cat food I bought at the tienda and asked her to feed the wild kitties. She said "No senor those are wild jungle cats, we don't want them here. But my friend has domestic cats and I will pass to her the food." So I stole the pillow case and I smuggled out one sweet kitty... we picked up a backpack on the way to the airport and I sent her right under the x-ray machine in Mexico and carried her on and under my seat. She was very good and quiet. When we got to port of entry in Houston they asked me what was in the backpack and I had to tell them a cat. The customs agents were very surprised and not sure what to do and they just waived me through...
