For the worse? Used to enjoy KD once in a while but hadn't had it for several years. Recently tied it again (the "original" version) and was surprised at how bad it was. The macaroni seemed as before but the grated cheese mix had an unpleasant, kind of burned taste and smell to it. It hardly tasted like cheese at all and was sort of a tan color rather than yellow. Tried another box a few weeks later and it was no better.
Has the recipe changed or is it just me??

(22,143 posts)a casserole (chicken) that I brought, and the taste was off too somewhat. It's the point that when I fix a large dinner from them (multiple servings), I've always add to it, that is, it's a (their dinners) recipe in the overall dinner I'm making (I intercept it during the cooking process, and add to it). They all are seeming to skimp on recipe items, or change out former recipe items for more 'questionable' substitute items (probably trying to drive their costs down constantly). It's to the point now that I only buy the dinners once every six months...you're better off fixing the whole damn thing yourself from scratch now.

(13,783 posts)... I depend on for tuna fish casserole every few years. The answer I got was that the taste changed when trans fats were removed.

(4,557 posts)I've noticed a change in taste (not for the better) in that product as well.
Damn it, I wish they would stop trying to "improve" their products - if I want to eat healthier, I will just have it less often.

(6,974 posts)And friends still eating regular food have told me since the late 1980's and into the 1990's have been telling me this. Whether it be candy, fruit, meat or boxed food as you mentioned.
I may be a Vegan, but we ALL also know that the price of food is also totally out of control 🤬

(2,244 posts)Even discontinued some of their products without a word, (Jalapeno Mac & Cheese anyone?).
If the linked article above says nobody noticed, I can tell you that their Facebook page was literally a wall of hate.
