(14,275 posts)It works as a continuation of Breaking Bad. I thought it was beautifully done.
But if this would have been my first introduction to Jessie Pinkman I would not have understood it as much.

There are some breath taking desert scenes, also.
Gilligan is marvelous at lights, and colors, I watched Breaking Bad again just to note how the scenes were set up.
He had talked about how each key actor had their own colors thru out the series...Marie Schrader, Hanks wife, had purple color theme, for instance.
Now we have to wait another year for Saul to return....sigh.

I loved the first couple of seasons of BCS - eg Jimmy's Chicago roots, the Kettlemans, his thing with Kim etc. - but its kind of devolving into tiresome Breaking Bad rehash .... sad to say.

(17,305 posts)My wife and I watched it yesterday. We both like it but didn't love it. It was good, not great, IMO. Maybe my expectations were too high?

(43,182 posts)Without going into any specifics, it didnt do anything that diminished the original series in any way, and thats what I wanted.
Of course Vince Gilligain has done such a good job with Better Call Saul so I figured it was in very good hands.
