Unchained melody
The Righteous Brothers
Oh, my love, my darling
I've hungered for your touch
A long, lonely time
Time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you still mine?
I need your love
I need your love
God speed your love to me
Lonely rivers flow
To the sea, to the sea
To the open arms of the sea
Lonely rivers sigh
"Wait for me, wait for me"
I'll be coming home, wait for me
Oh, my love, my darling
I've hungered, for your touch
A long, lonely time
Time goes by so slowly
And time can do so much
Are you still mine?
I need your love
I need your love
God speed your love to me

Album:
The Essential Simon & Garfunkel
Track Number:
16
Lyrics:
What a dream I had
Pressed in organdy
Clothed in crinoline of smoky burgundy
Softer than the rain
I wandered empty streets
Down past the shop displays
I heard cathedral bells
Tripping down the alley ways
As I walked on
And when you ran to me
Your cheeks flushed with the night
We walked on frosted fields
Of juniper and lamplight
I held your hand
And when I awoke and felt you warm and near
I kissed your honey hair with my grateful tears
Oh, I love you, girl
Oh, I love you

The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,735 posts)were written during the Italian Renaissance. That stuff was HOT, full of passion and lust and dying for love, totally emo, and a million times more erotic than any modern rock or pop music. You can break out in a sweat just reading the lyrics. One composer of the time, Carlo Gesualdo (whose music was startling in a lot of ways because he was both brilliant and as mad as a box of frogs), murdered his wife and her lover upon catching them in flagrante delicto. Elvis was pretty tame...

(33,525 posts)She had this dress that she wore when we were young which she called "my gypsy dress" and she was extraordinarily beautiful whenever she wore it, even before we were lovers. Of course, it was a primitive way of seeing beauty, but she has had decades to teach me the better side of beauty.
Still the lines in the song, "I want to rock your gypsy soul, just like back in the days of old," make me think of those times, the anticipation and the realization, whenever I hear it and its a very happy memory.
Thus it's my favorite love song.

(24,259 posts)called (I'll be loving you) Always.
I first heard it as a child in the 60s when watching an old black and white movie on TV called, Blithe Spirit and it's hauntingly lovely melody been a big favorite since.
There have been a lot of singers that have done it but of the ones I could quickly find that I thought were especially wonderful are...
This is a gorgeous newer rendition...
And...
Patsy Cline did a powerful rendition the year I was born...

Skid Row- I remember You. If you don't mind Sebastian talking and cussing for about 2 minutes, he has always shown his talent and still continues to perform. Yes, his brother Zac Bierk is a former NHL player.
Tesla- Love Song. I still enjoy this ballad to this day.
And my final, most admired ballad is Elvis Presley's Always On My Mind

(16,829 posts)There are places I'll remember
All my life, though some have changed
Some forever, not for better
Some have gone, and some remain
All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends, I still can recall
Some are dead, and some are living
In my life, I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life, I'll love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I'll love you more
In my life I'll love you more
