When talking about alcohol addiction they portray it as something for which you can’t break from without help. The reality is many if not the majority of alcoholics who do quit do so on their own. This is not to say that all alcoholics can, just that it does happen.

Kudos to them for talking about this. I don’t think too many serious enthusiast are alcoholics. At that point it’s more about quantity than quality. However it can be a pathway to those who have a predisposition to alcoholism.
