(95,337 posts)But honestly, Eric is about it with who I would like to spend quality time with. Bill is way too uptight and Jason is way too stupid.
If anything some of them I'd like to be friends - like Lafayette. I'd have a blast hanging out with Lafayette.

(12,132 posts)She likes Eric too but she makes these noises when Alcide is around.
Which worries me a little bit as I am just about as far away from an Alcide type guy as one can get...but if she ain't kicked me out in 26 years there's probably no reason to think she will now...and as I get older I am getting hairier in different places...none of them sexy but still different...

Just the fact that you watch this TV show and know so much about it.
That will definitely be in opposition commercials.

(95,337 posts)It's a lovely state and we don't pay any sales tax. I'm just a short ride from 4 major US cities (NYC, Philly, Baltimore and DC) and yet I'm a short drive from the beach too. And we're pretty solidly blue. We'd have to give away the Northern part of the state for the republicans to have any chance of winning a statewide election.
Aren't you proud of where you are from?

(29,582 posts)They sell novelty Tunnel Pass stickers at Outer Banks souvenir shops.
The concept is almost plausible.
Currently there's two main ways to get to Ocracoke: A three hour ferry ride from the mainland or a 40 minute ferry ride from Hatteras Island.
Hatteras Inlet isn't very deep, in fact, not so long ago you could walk from Hatteras to Ocracoke without getting your feet wet.
The government spends a fortune dredging it and running ferries. And there's no reservation for that ferry so you either have to get there early or wait for a really long time; and service is frequently interrupted for various weather events.
So when you're waiting for the ferry it is fun to imagine how much easier it would be to take a tunnel, sort of.
Got any more questions about Outer Banks infrastructure?

(5,235 posts)You are asked to see a 25-year-old white man who experienced marked weakness and dyspnea 4 days after being admitted for a compound arm fracture after falling from a tree. Estimated blood loss from the initial fracture episode was 600 mL, and the patient was transfused with one unit of packed erythrocytes. The initial cross match was reported as compatible by the transfusion service. The patient has never been transfused before this incident and has no other serious medical illnesses. The patient's arm fracture was treated with surgical pinning and prophylactic antibiotics consisting of cefotetan 2 g IV every 12 hours. On examination, the patient is febrile and mildly tachycardic, with no evidence of wound infection or compartment syndrome. Laboratory data show a hematocrit of 15%, absolute reticulocyte count of 600,000 μL, and total bilirubin of 70 umol/L with direct bilirubin of 9 umol/L. The peripheral smear shows many spherocytes. No hemoglobinemia or hemoglobinuria is seen on visual inspection of the plasma and urine. The transfusion service reports that the direct Coombs' test is now strongly positive using anti-IgG and only weakly positive with anti-C3d antisera. They further report that routine compatibility tests show no new erythrocyte antibodies in the patient's serum and that, when they attempted to elute antibody from the patient's RBCs and test against normal RBCs, the results were negative. What is the most likely diagnosis?
A) Hemolytic transfusion reaction caused by an ABO incompatibility
B) Delayed hemolytic transfusion reaction
C) Autoimmune hemolytic anemia of warm antibody type
D) Autoimmune hemolytic anemia of cold antibody type
E) Drug-induced immune hemolytic anemia

(95,337 posts)As babies we don't have an understanding of what hate is but learn it from our parents and the people that surround us.
The GOP have created a very solid message to inflame that hate within the rural parts of our country by claiming that if the Democrats are elected they'll unleash the 3G - that is Guns will be taken away from you, God will be taken away from you and all of you will become Gay.
Thing is this, Obama is in office and I've yet to meet one person who had their gun taken from then or was denied the right to attend church and worship God. And not one of them has turned into a homosexual IF they weren't already born as such.
Go figure.
