So now we have two turkeys

My guy's son and his family live w/ us and they will be going elsewhere for dinner today, but they had told us that they would provide a turkey and a few other staples for a holiday dinner that we could all share over the weekend.

As of yesterday morning, we had no turkey, so my Dad bought us one.

And last night the guest family came home with a 25 lb turkey.

We also have about 15 lbs of apples.

And the guest family wants mac & cheese for our holiday dinner.

I miss my mother.

Cook the other one and also have Mac & cheese? IMO leftover turkey sandwiches are the best part of the Thanksgiving meal, I can take it or leave it hot.
Make applesauce? Easy in the crock pot.

It's basically apple sauce cooked in the crockpot another 5 hours. Dint peel the apples... the peel helps the jellification.

It's tough when loved ones are not part of our holidays any more.

Here's a hug

I never appreciated all the work she did for Thanksgiving. She'd start cleaning the house two weeks before. (I'm talking wiping down the walls and ceilings). On Thanksgiving day, the cats would sit in front of the oven as soon as they smelled the turkey. It was chaos every time, with extended family and friends arriving and (trying) to help. . It was always a good time. And then the cleanup. Ugh. Yup, I miss my mom!
