Wondering though why not use the long-handled nets for the rescue?

Perhaps an impromptu rescue and he didn't have one with him?

So happy they found and rescued this beautiful eagle. The poor thing would have died without their rescue and dedicated care.

This wasn't too far from me. We've had some very frigid and snowy weather up here in Northern Michigan. It came early in the season, too.

ran the ferry across Lake Charlevoix for years and years. In fact, he made Ripley's Believe It or Not for "traveling more than 10,000 miles without being 1/4 mile from his home" back in the 1940s.

I'm in Lansing now, but I have fond memories of northern Michigan.
