* Two-pack of Fixodent original.
* Cashews and chocolates - lots of cashews and chocolates, they'll keep.
* Spare reading glasses for reading and driving.
* Merino wool socks.
* Subscription renewal to Funny Times progressive humor newspaper (best Trump relief, ever).
* Gift cards to Cracker Barrel or Bob Evans.

All those are for older friends, of course.......

10. I can't agree

Most of experiences with them have been fine. Between hubby and self: Triple by pass, gall bladder out, two hip replacements, two partial knee replacements and a lot of dental work. With one exception, all personal treatment professional and pleasant and we're both back on the streets annoying the gentry and terrorizing the peasants.

As for lording it, I got our dentist off his butt and starting to vote. Took some work, but I think the Democratic nominee will have another vote next November.

11. I'm agreeing with your original reference to the number of appointments, not to quality of care.

& my "lording it" is about how the scheduling staff take it for granted that we sheep will accept being herded around because, as you said, it's all what our social life revolves around. I'm like, no I want it mid-morning, or, on referral to a specialist I'll call to make the appointment myself. I don't talk politics to doctors, but did all during an echo exam with the tech explaining pro-Choice vs pro-"life" to him and how we at DU are all Dems but argue with one another and some of our sub- groups are aggressive towards other DUers.

Fortunately, most of the time haven't encountered much herding. I agree that can activate the feral reaction. Being retired, the scheduling isn't a problem.

Generally, I don't talk politics, but my dentist and his staff know I'm a semi-political junkie, so they ask me. Thanks to DU and other sites I can sound like I know what I'm talking about.
