I watched faithfully as a kid, but don't remember this.

Whilst using the banned Google machine, I discovered this little tidbit:

"In the highly trivial category, the main character in the show The Greatest American Hero was named Ralph Hinkley. In one episode, there is some discussion about his father who was a college professor who was lost on a cruise. You connect the dots."

Gilligan's first name was Willy or Willie.

Jonas Grumby. I don't know the others.

Retained that from somewhere.

I remember that one from passing thru that town once.

Skipper was Jonas ____?____

Professor __?__ Hinkley?

Still have some cousins living there.

I had two aunts/uncles & a few cousins in/around Severy and Eureka.

But that one's easy. He was constantly saying it on the show!

I can't remember my own first name.

Is the hardest one.

Gilligan is Willie Gilligan. The full names were all said during the second episode as the castaways sit around listening to a news report on the radio about the missing tour boat.

That was the only time those full names of the Skipper, Professor, Maryanne, Gilligan and Lovey were used as far as I can tell.

And the antenna was really something too.

That's why when someone asks what I would want on a deserted island, I say the Professor...oh... and Maryanne too

interesting...

16. Schwartz had plans for a fourth movie in which the castaways learn that a nuclear war has destroyed human civilization. Bob Denver (Gilligan) describes the premise:

The seven of us think it’s destroyed and we get married. Gilligan marries Mary Ann and they have a baby boy. The Professor marries Ginger and they have a baby girl. And then there’s like a Blue Lagoon sequence where the kids grow up, so when Gilligan’s son is twenty, he sails off to see whether the world is really destroyed, and of course it isn’t. They heard it on the radio, and Gilligan broke it just before the disclaimer came on.” (14)
