Author and narrator John Steinbeck introduces 'The Gift of the Magi' segment in the anthology film, "O. Henry's Full House" (1952) based on 5 short stories by American writer O. Henry. 'The Gift of the Magi' featuring actors Farley Granger and Jeanne Crain is the tale of a young married couple that sacrifices in order to afford Christmas gifts for each other. ~ As a child I remember watching this sentimental story on TV and being so moved by it, especially during the holidays.
